There is no peace

As I am writing this, the earth which I am living on, by virtue of its gravitational forces, is rotating at a speed of about 1,600 kilometers per hour. Simultaneously, it spins (rotates) and orbits around the Sun a speed of about 107,000 kilometers per hour.
The Earth rotating

At the same time, the Sun pulls all of the solar system into moving around the center of our galaxy at some 220 kilometers per second, or 490,000 miles per hour.

This depiction is not exactly true but it gives a general idea of how the Sun and the planets in it whirls around the Milky Way galaxy
We do not feel any of this motion because all the speeds are constant. The spinning and orbital speeds of Earth stay the same so we do not feel any acceleration or deceleration. We can only feel motion if the speed changes. For example, if you are in a car which is moving at a constant speed on a smooth surface, you will not feel much motion. However, when the car accelerates or when the brakes are applied, you do feel motion.

And from a smaller scale:

The cell
Our bodies have 123 trillions cells. Each of these cells continues a war that have started billions of years ago, the war for the cell against the virus.

The battle for health is not only against viruses, but our cells also have to protect themseves against invading bacterias, microbes, free radicals etc. In other words, the body, with it the cells, continually goes to war every single minute to be healthy and alive.

We are never at peace.

"We are living in a world of really amazing contradictions. On the one hand, people are afraid of war; on the other hand, they prepare for it with frenzy. They produce in abundance, but they distribute miserly. The world becomes more and more crowded, but man becomes increasingly isolated and lonely. Men are living close to each other as in a big family, but each individual finds himself more alone than ever before, separated from his neighbor"

After a history of wars and cruel torture, the modern world now bleeds human with capitalism, imbalanced democracies and boat noodles. The perceived peace that we are living now is an illusion. There are about 7 murders per 1000 people, or roughly 500,000 murders per year. that comes out to about 1,300 murders per day, 57 per hour and a little over one per minute. The worldwide mortality rate is 107 deaths per minute and some argue that the rate didn't improve much since World War I. Even with the advanced technology that we have now and the DNA experience of cells in creating antibodies after millions of years, 708 people will die from cancer every hour, or 11.8 persons per minute. 3,287 people die from road crash every day, highest man made cause of deaths and its increasing every year. Every minute, two children become victims of human trafficking and every five minutes a divorce happens somewhere in the world.  Every minute 18 people die of starvation in the world and 113 cell phones are lost or stolen every minute. Life can be so bleak that one in 10 people suffer from depression and every 40 second someone will take their own life.

The economy is uncertain all over the world and there is an imminent political crisis in every country. Religion and race are being fought about everyday everywhere and a simple spark can start a brutal long lasting war. Even the mind itself is a unstoppable machine that keeps churning thoughts every waking second. Our anxieties, fears, dreams and hopes keeps on flashing in our mind.

The only real peace that we can have is the one we create when we distract ourselves from everything, momentarily.
