Refuge

A lot of people take refuge from the world for some times. It could be someone, a point in time, a place or an action/actions. 

Some of the refuges, or escapism are one - off things, some are more permanent and recurring.

In sitcoms, you will see people of different sexes, backgrounds spending long period of time together in one or few locations. These same characters are taking refuge from their everyday lives and escaping it by being together in a group, in familiar environments creating a world that is more acceptable and pleasurable.

Social media is a refuge. The Internet may not be as realistically existing as compared to the real world but it is able to evoke the same set of human reactions; it forms networks, brings similar people together in different settings.

Religions have their own set of rituals that creates a refuge for people that performs it. The concentration that one exerts during prayers, for almost all religions, creates a serene refuge for those seeking it. These pleasurable sensations during prayers creates a positive spiritual well being while being repeatedly performed. As it is being repeatedly performed, conviction and self-thinking sceneries plays in the mind, thus making the believer even more firm in their faith.

A hobby, a game, a sport can also be sources of refuges.

Cause we need to go away to come back stronger.
