My first time in Jakarta
Jakarta, what can I say. Great city, wonderful people. Capital of the Republic of Indonesia , Jakarta is a huge, sprawling metropolis, home to 9 million people. During the day the number increases with another 2 million as commuters make their way to work in the city, and flock out again in the evenings. This causes the "macet" or traffic jam as they refer here.

People often rest anywhere by the streets. The streets is always alive, here.
There was a protest of about 20-30 people in the middle of Jakarta. About some Freeport thingy. I went to ask the people there, they don't really know about it or maybe I don't understand what they were saying. About Jokowi , the President, being close to US, I guess.
In Jakarta, met this old man playing a sape with haunting, eerie sounds by the drain : Check it out here : https://www.facebook.com/khalida/videos/10156207280750596/ Some scenes from the Colosseum club that I visited with the pure intention to blog about it. |
